i had awful insomnia last night as a result of a stuff up with the ato which has seen mark and i hit with a fairly substantial interest bill from the tax department.
after the shock (and the tears) subsided it is now up to us to prove that we paid the amounts we claim we did or face court proceedings.
it's awful, i hate it and it is the last time i trust a old fuddy-duddy accountant to do our tax (he was a friend of mark's dad and did our tax because we were part of the family business and mark was a director)
i want to put my head on the pillow tonight and wake up in the morning and the whole bloody mess will be over and done with.
unfortunately things don't work that way.
oh well....just gotta keep on plodding along.
then we were up at 5 this morning to greet dad and my step-mum when they arrived for breakfast and a quick stopover to see the kids, on their way back to brisbane. they are helping care for my uncle bob who has advanced bowel cancer. he is in brisbane having treatment and although i haven't seen him since he went up there a month ago, from what dad tells me i think they are just clutching at straws by giving him this treatment.
but that's uncle bob's call.
i just pray that he gets some relief from the horrible symptoms of cancer.
then it was off to work to be confronted by piles and piles of paperwork - mainly filing that the butt-lazy staff didn't put back into the folders once they had finished with them.
to say i was "not-happy-jan" is an understatement i can tell you.
most of the staff who were guilty gave me a wide berth today i can tell you.
GRRRRRRR !!!
and tonight we have friends staying the night
(but i really want to go to bed and sleep).
nath and bec are getting married in april and are home from darwin for their bucks and hens nights.
will be good to catch up with them before the wedding.
hopefully some scrapping tomorrow and i will be able to take part in ali's challenge and share some of my more recent creations.

Oh Crap! I hope that the tax mess is able to be sorted out - not at all good!!!! Take lots of deep breaths and then vent all you need to! Hope that today brings much better things for you! Shari xxx
That's a poop! mmm, sometimes it's best to go with someone younger. I hope you get it all sorted out and that you find an accountant who can help you.
