well what an "interesting" time it has been around the traps today.
between blogs and forums, i think a lot of people have ruffled a lot of feathers and a lot of people have had their feathers ruffled.
after losing friendships because of misconstrued posts in forums myself, i know how devastating it can be to have someone publicly belittle you - whether it be face-to-face in real life or via the electronic media - it hurts and i am sad to think that so many people will probably come out the other side of this a little worse for wear.
i don't really understand who said what to who or what exactly all the fuss is about.
i am just sad that petty jealousies have reared their heads and people will be hurt by what has been said or what has been interpretated to have been said.
maybe i shouldn't be commenting on something i don't understand.
why can't we just all get along and do what we love - scrap, scrap scrap !!!
i have had a busy day getting kait and i ready to head off to sydney tomorrow morning.
and we both so love to fly !!!!
i have washed, folded, ironed, shopped, cooked meals, changed all the sheets, vacuumed, mopped, packed clothes and scrapping supplies, generally tidied the house.
and i just KNOW it won't make an iota of difference to mark and matt and jake but at least i will know in my own mind that things are as they should be when i walk out the door in the morning.
i am so looking forward to spending time with louise and chris and my gorgeous "little B" (bianca).
it will be so nice to just kick back and chat and laugh and cry (we are such sooks louise and i) and best of all.......SCRAP!!!
i have introduced (and dare i say....inspired) louise to scrap so it will be so super dooper cool to have someone to scrap with.
louise and i are also going to visit annette from the scrapbook establishment. i have "known" annette for a few years now via emials and the odd phonecall and it will be lovely to finally meet her in real life.
on a personal note i have spent a good deal of the day thinking about my step-father, don - or "pa" as the kids called him.
and i will admit i had a good old cry under the shower tonight.
sobbed and sobbed and sobbed to be honest.
tears of sorrow and heartbreak for the loss of such a beautiful man and tears of regret that i couldn't fulfill the promise i made to him in the last moments of his life, to look after and care for mum.
i feel so much that i have let him down terribly.
i am sad every day that my children have had to grow up without having him in their lives - he so loved the boys when they were born and alas he never knew our baby girl.
had pa lived he would have celebrated his 75th birthday today. how can it be that he has been gone for almost 13 years...???
he so loved his birthdays.
"don't make a fuss" he would say and then make sure we had enough pocket money to buy him a gift.
the morning of his birthday he would be up before anyone else - coughing and banging cupboard doors in an attempt to get us to wake up.
yup....i miss you pa. each and every day my heart weeps for the life you should have and didn't and for the way things have turned out for mum.
i honestly don't know how she can honour your memory and live the life she has chosen.
but that's just it....it is her choice to live that lifestyle.
anyways....enough of the miseries.
sorry if you read that and didn't want to.
i hope to be able to blog while i am in sydney - well once or twice perhaps.
i hope you all have a fantastic "rest-of-the-week"
be happy
don't forget to smile
love lots

Enjoy your time girl while your away. I agree with your comments concerning scrapping. I think Bambi knew it all - "if you can't say anything nice....don't say anything at all" Mishell sort of taken out that insurance with her blog name! Blogs are a good way to for us to personally work through stuff, as you are doing. Sort of a healing process I guess.
Have a great holiday!
Cheers
Ruthy
Shazz I only started reading about all the crap that went on today and I too have only come in not knowing the full story but what is it with some women who insist on this childish behaviour, like I said don't know the full story all I know is aren't we supposed to be doing this to record our most important times ie. our family.
On a happier note have a great time down south, get heaps of scrappin done and even more chatting.
Have the best time in Sydney you girls!!!!! nothing better thn someone to scrap with Shazz.
Hi Shazz, I hope you are having a lovely holiday!! It is lovely to think of those we have loved and lost!
As for Annette, I am so jealous that you are getting to meet her!! I did DT work for Annette a little while ago and have kept in contact ever since. She is just the biggest sweetie!! I hope you had a lovely meeting with her and yes Kim it's easy to spend up on her site!LOL
I'm a bit late Shazzy, but I truly hope you have a good break. You deserve some time to just relax and take things easy.
Look forward to reading all about it when you get back.
